#1616: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

Hi, just started using Quire and compared to other tools I tried, I just love it for now. One quick suggestion: Create a board from a root task to a board would be nice. When doing this, something to consider could be adding sub-tasks of this root task to the board automatically.

Hi Peggy, what I mean is an option to automatically create a board from a root task (using the task name as board name and keep them in sync), either from the context menu or optionally as a setting for all root tasks. Mine is a suggestion rather than a question. Now it can be done manually but it's tedious.

As for the fact that sub-tasks are auto added to a board I didn't know. That's great and will check it out.

I just checked this and works great. The only peculiar thing is that a root task is added to the board but a root task rarely needs progress tracking so it will always remain in the to-do .. only sub-tasks will move onto progress and done in the board. My suggestion earlier then comes into play here: a board tied to a root task doesn't contain the root task but only the sub-tasks tree. When all these are done one could mark the root task as done in the tree view.

Anyways, just a suggestion like I said. It's all good if you never implement it. ;-)

Hi Simone, I’m glad to hear that you love Quire! 👍 About your question, i don’t really understand it, do you mean you wish to add root tasks to board? If so, this could be done, you will have to create a board first, then click on the “+” sign and choose add existing tasks. (see more here ) Also, note that when you go back the tree-view and add subtasks under that particular root task, the subtasks will automatically appear on the Board too. Hope this helps. 😃
