#2710: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

Hi, I've just come over from Wunderlist. All is looking good and as simplistic as I need, but I'm unsure how best to structure it and how boards/lists differ. I'm a copywriter and work for 5 companies with numerous tasks each month that move from Live to With Client to Complete/Invoice. How do I use boards (my visual preference)? I want everything visible on one screen. On lists, I've started with the client as the project and listed my subtasks – great, but how do I shift to Boards? Just need help setting up to make life easiest and then I'll be away...

Hi @louisebeech , the basic idea of Quire nested task list is to help you break down large ideas into small actionable tasks. Kanban Board is for the execution stage where you want to visualize some of the important tasks that need your full attention during a short amount of time. We have a blog post about our Kanban Board philosophy.

However, if you would like to view all of your tasks from the same project in one single board, unfortunately, there’s no way to do it automatically. You would have to select all of your tasks in the list and add them to the board. On another hand, if you want to see cross-project tasks, you can take advantage of our Smart Folder. However, Smart Folder doesn’t support Board view yet.

For your case in particular, I suggest you could set up one board for each month. This way, you can add the tasks that need to be done/accomplished/relevant in that month into the first column (you might want to rename to Live). As your work progresses, you can move the tasks from the Live column to the next column (named With Client). When you finish everything, you can move them to the last column (named Completed/Invoice).

If it sounds too troublesome (hopefully it’s not!), you can always use tags to classify your tasks. Quire is a flexible tool with so many hidden Easter eggs for you to discover the best workflow that fits your needs. We hope you have fun!

Why oh why oh why are smart boards not a thing?!?

How is Quire team using boards without smart boards?!?!

You will need to create hundreds of little mini boards and you will never get to see all your tasks together on a board.

How is that organized?!?

That is a nightmare.

Very much looking forward to smart boards. Until then gotta just use list view .

I like the idea behind Quire Kanban. Making boards for what you need to do today. Nice idea but completely impossible without access to ALL of my tasks.

This is so strange
