#3404: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

Hi,

Love the product, but I find I am running into one small UI issue in an action that I use very often through the day when creating new items.

To reproduce:

  1. Select an item
  2. Hit return to create a new item under it, and then fairly quickly hit tab.

Expected action, which does occur if you pause slightly between hitting return and tab, is that I can now begin typing a new subitem.

Actual behaviour, if I hit tab quickly after hitting return, is quite odd:

  1. Search menu flashes.
  2. UI updates to look like I am ready to enter a new item at the same level as the one above, but …
  3. If I hit tab now, it doesn't indent the new item, but instead highlights the filter (funnel icon).
  4. If I instead type a new item and hit return to end it, nothing happens: the cursor stays blinking and the item is not confirmed.

Hi @robert-15 - please note when in edit mode, hitting Tab will indent the task. (Shift + Tab will unindent the task.) However, when you aren't in edit mode, hitting Tab will navigate your focus around the workspace. I'm guessing you weren't in edit mode when you pressed Tab, that's why the search menu flashes and the filter menu (funnel icon) got highlighted.

Here's a cheatsheet to our keyboard shortcuts: https://quire.io/guide/keyboard-cheatsheet/. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you are still running into any trouble. Thanks.
