I have been switching between quire.io and Trello trying to decide which one to use as a kanban-style board to manage game dev tasks.
Subjectively, Trello "feels" easier to just jump in and get things done, partly because it has less features (also its downfall) but also because its appearance is just simpler.
I love that quire.io has dark mode, but I find that the lack of contrast for both the dark and light theme makes it quite difficult to use. I can work around this using a browser plugin that can adjust the CSS but I'd really like either more color schemes to choose from or just a way to increase the contrast. I am happy with the overall look of quire.io, so if all you do is just bump up the contrast by at least 50% (probably a lot more) that would be enough.
The following is general feedback jfyi and unrelated to the above: I'm leaning towards quire.io because I value some of the additional features it offers over Trello, namely subtasks and the ability to attach tags as well as priorities etc. The basic concept of a "board" containing columns and columns containing tasks is solid. However I need a way to group tasks under a super-task (kind of like an Epic in JIRA I guess). I like breaking up a large feature into smaller tasks, and then I want a way to track the progress of that larger task. Using subtasks in quire might be the winning feature. Thanks!
