#4343: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

Allow assigning tasks to users that are not in quire (something like guests). People that are testing Quire probably will not ask the organization to change the project management system before evaluating the tool for a while. Having a team in Quire and other teams in other tools would be a burden. Therefore, to allow the use of the functionality to group activities by person without having to ask everyone to register in Quire, it would be nice to allow assignment to non-registred people.

Hi Michael,

Welcome back to Quire! I've answered your question via the email that you sent me earlier 😃 Have a great day!

Hi @peggy - reading this as I am going through the Feedback board to hopefully get some ideas as to how I can invite a client to be able to comment on tasks without having to pay for a license for every client.

When I go to a project and try to invite a user (I created a free account to use to test with), I cannot invite even a guest to either a project or organization. I get this message no matter whether I am trying to invite as a Guest or as Limited+ Role, whether as a Member or as an External Team:

So, it looks like, even to invite a guest, I have to pay for each guest at the price point of my membership.

Is there no ability to incorporate SOME type of client engagement (and not just the view only share link)?

Hi @filipemtz - At the moment, if you would like to assign the tasks to a person, that person must sign up for a Quire account, since the member will have permission to edit or complete tasks.

However, you can utilize our Share Link function. With the Share Link, people without a Quire account can view the tasks within the project. Visit this guide for more details: https://quire.io/guide/share-link/

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Hi @filipemtz - As you are testing our system right now, I would suggest you to invite fake/alias members into your projects. Simply enter a random and fake email address to invite them.

Once you have decided to move on in Quire, you can delete the fake members and invite the real ones. I hope this helps.

@peggy since I am currently testing if I get adapted to Quire, I will not ask my colleagues to sign up, but I may in the future. What I miss is the ability of grouping tasks by person. But I am using tags with the name of the person as a proxy for now.
