I just tried to reference/link to a task in another tasks comment. Typing # brought up an auto-complete list of tasks that I could link to, only seems these were only from the active project. This really needs to be workspace wide. Has anyone asked for this before? Thanks.

Hi Neil - If you want to refer to tasks from a different project, type in #projectID/taskID or copy and paste the entire URL of that task. I hope this helps.

In theory, yes thanks Peggy. In practice, seems I still am unable to link to projects let alone tasks in different projects. Ideally, if I enter "#" and start typing, I would be presented with things I could link to across either the current project (first) or another - and this would include projects themselves (where I don't want to reference specific tasks).
At the moment, I can link to other tasks in this way, but I have tried manually copying/pasting a project ID after a # and it doesn't link to anything, instead just showing what I've typed.
Am I right to understand the syntax should be, for example: #projectID where this comes from the settings page of a project e.g. projectID? Thanks.

Hi Peggy. It might just be me, but still don't understand - sorry! Aside from anything else, how come the link you've shown ends at /27 if it's meant to link to the analytics report? Also, should this work across projects, i.e. link to analytics report from a comment in another project (not the meeting agenda)? Finally, are you unable to link in this way by simply starting with a hashtag + autocomplete (what I seem able to do to tasks in the active project)? Thanks again.

Hi Neil -
In my example task URL: https://quire.io/w/Peggy_Meeting_Agenda/27/Weekly_Google_Analytics_Report
The project ID is Peggy_Meeting_Agenda.
The task ID is 27.
The task name is Weekly_Google_Analytics_Report
- If I am referring to a task that is from the same project (in this example, from the project 'Peggy Meeting Agenda'), I only need to type in
#and a autocomplete menu will appear for me to select a task. - However, if I am referring to this task from another project, I will need to type in the project ID and the task ID, like so
#Peggy_Meeting_Agenda/27in order to refer to that same task. And there won't be an autocomplete menu to select a task.

Thanks Peggy. Think I understand now ;) One note however: text displayed for linked projects appears to use the underlying URL name e.g. "CODE PROJECT-564" instead of the more expected/user-freindly "CODE PROJECT" (for example). Similarly, tasks show the task ID number in front of the name (where I'd expect just the task name)? Thanks again.

Hi Neil - Here's an example that might help to explain clearer:
The task URL from another project that I would like to link to:
https://quire.io/w/Peggy_Meeting_Agenda/27/Weekly_Google_Analytics_ReportFrom this project, I can then type in #Peggy_Meeting_Agenda/27 to link that task.
I hope that I have answered your question. Thanks!
