#5174: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

I've noticed that in a recent update, Task parenting / nesting works a little more intuitively in the board view, which is great.

There's particularly a new feature that makes any new task i create in board view automatically become the child of whatever task I currently have selected.

However, There's no way it seems to deselect any task, so each time I want to create an independent task, I need to close the parent prompt in the task.

It would be super nice if I could simply deselect a task in board view, or any view really, by just clicking in a blank space somewhere on the window, similar to how it works in file browsers, then I could select a task if I waned to in order to parent them, but I could also deselect to remove the green highlight and create independent tasks freely.

Hi Luke, Thank you for your suggestion! Unfortunately, we don't have the option to deselect tasks. You can only close the small grey window to create an independent task. Nevertheless, I will pass your feedback to our Product Team, and I will keep you posted if we have any updates.

Additionally, we have a feature called Task Bundle. This feature allows the subtasks to be nested under the parent tasks, so you can always see the task hierarchy. This way, when you add new tasks, you can identify where you insert the new task.

Please see this guide for more information about Task Bundle.
