#5293: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed
Tag: Resolved

After struggling with adding all projects separately (while free version can do all at once), marked most of them to "My tasks" only, from 2 professional organisations.

However tasks that I added in both company and private organisations and assigned to other person directly while adding task, appears in my calendar.

Hi @Grox, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Our team has fixed the issue, and now tasks from My Tasks that are assigned to others will not appear in the calendar event.

Regarding the free version of Google Calendar Sync can add all projects at once, I will have a discussion with the team and let you know once we have any updates. Thank you.

Hi @Grox, With our current spec, if you remove "Google Calendar Instant Sync" from the task follower, it will still appear in Google Calendar. However, if there is any update from that task (for example, you change the date), Google Calendar will not update it.

Regarding your request, I will bring it to the Product Team, and we will consider it further. I will let you know once we have any updates. Thank you

Hi @Raisag

Can confirm that issue with recurring task is fixed now.

Grox, May 8, 2022

Hi @Grox, If you sync the calendar to My Tasks and you created a task with a start or due date, the task will appear in the calendar.

Tasks will be included in My Tasks when:

  • Tasks created by you, not assigned to others, with start or due date
  • Task assigned to you
  • Personal tasks

Please visit our guide here to know more about My Tasks. Thank you.

Hello @Raisag Thank you for fixing single-assignment, but there is one more case wrong.

Project: 2 people. Task: not assigned to anyone (it is just like an info of automated process to keep it in mind). Still appears in calendar.

Like by logic, it should appear only when it is assigned to me only or to both people in the multi-people project.

Hello @Raisag Then is there any way I can reach what I need to? Have task with date only in Quire, without separate project.

Grox, Apr 29, 2022

Also seems fixed issue is not fine on recurring tasks. I have "My tasks" sync in project, recurring tasks assigned to someone else, and these again appeared in my calendar.

Grox, Apr 29, 2022

Hello @Raisag

I created recurring task (with subtasks), assigned it to someone from team. It is not in my calendar (correctly). Once they complete it and it reccurs, it appears in my calendar.

"My tasks" sync.

May it be because of weird way of recurring maybe? Like it adds assignees in other order?

Grox, May 3, 2022

Hi Grox, I'm sorry I missed your comment!

If you set the task with a date, it will appear in the calendar because it will meet the criteria for My Tasks. You can set the task without a date in order to not appear in the calendar.

Regarding the recurring tasks that appear in the calendar, I was not able to reproduce this. Could you please explain the reproduction steps? This way we can help to further troubleshoot.

Hi @Grox,

A recurring task with assignee should not appear in the Google Calendar. Our developer team has fixed the issue. Please try again and let me know if the problem persists.

Thank you.

Hello @Raisag

Will let you know about recurring task once someone finished it next time.

About tasks with date, no assignee and excluding it from calendar, I guess I found a way, but it would need an improvement.

I noticed that while removing "Google Calendar Instant Sync" from Followers on certain task, it would not sync anymore (what I want to). However, it is kind of tricky now.

If I add new task, and during creation remove followers, it will anyway appear in my calendar as "(No title)", and so will not be removed later. Same if I remove sync user from existing task, it will just keep it in calendar.

Only way I can avoid it in my calendar is to assign task to someone else (with sync user in followers), and then remove sync follower and unassign it on Quire. But I doubt it may then stay at other's person calendar. Can not verify it now.

Is there any way to either modify it that removing sync user will also remove task from calendar or for example additional popup while removing/option "Do you want also remove task from calendar?"?

That would be helpful and solve my case.

Hi @Grox, I'm glad that it's fixed now. If you have any questions, please contact us. Have a great day!

Hi @Grox, I have an update regarding your request about removing tasks with dates from Google Calendar when you remove Google Calendar Instant Sync from the task follower.

Unfortunately, when you remove the Google Calendar Instant Sync from the follower, the event will not be automatically removed from Google Calendar.

However, a workaround I would suggest is to manually remove the event from Google Calendar first. Then, go back to Quire and remove Google Calendar Instant Sync from the task follower. This way, in the future, if you update the tasks in Quire, they won't be synced to the Google Calendar anymore. Hope this helps. Thank you.
