I often jot down a quick note without organizing it in the tree. Dragging it into the intended task is not practical in a large project, but the "Make subtask of" menu option is also very slow with many steps. Something to a cut/paste mode would be much easier, prevent just taking away the two taps that are necessary to start searching for an intended parent

That's a nifty feature I never noticed before. Unfortunately this feedback concerns moving existing tasks, not the placement of new tasks (which I usually do by swiping the parent to access the add-child button anyway)

Currently, our mobile app does not support copying and pasting tasks. However, you can drag the green plus icon and drop it at the desired position to add the task. This way, you won't need to reorder the tasks manually. You can find more details here.
