#6226: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do

Hi! I had the idea to use Quire to keep track of tasks we have completed to go into release notes for each new publish of our app, however I am not sure what the best way to do this would be. I want to have a project folder within our organization with multiple release notes projects in it (ex Release Notes for Version 1.2, Release Notes for Version 1.3, and so on). The problem is that I want the completed tasks in both our to-do list project and in the release notes project because our to-do list is very detailed and I want the release notes to be more general.

Right now I am having my team copy their completed tasks from the to-do list project and paste them in the Release notes project, them mark them as completed in the to-do list so that the record of those completed tasks are still there. I was wondering if there is an easier way to achieve this kind of thing or if there is a functionality I am not aware of that would help simplify this process. Thank you!

Hi, thank you for your feedback.

Based on your use case, a task mirroring feature would be the suitable solution for your workflow. This feature would allow the same task to exist in multiple projects, with any changes automatically reflected across all instances. Unfortunately, this feature is not yet available in Quire. Rest assured, I will make sure to share your feedback with our Product Team for further consideration.

As an alternative, you can simplified your workflow without transferring tasks to another project by using a sublist with filtered tasks. Here’s how you can implement this:

  1. Create a tag for tasks with release notes: In your to-do list project, tag tasks intended for release notes with a specific label (e.g., Release Notes).
  2. Set up a sublist in your organization:
  • Go to your organization, hover over the + icon, and select Add Sublist.

  • In the dropdown under Tasks, choose Filter tasks with preset conditions.

  • Click Filter, hover over Tag, and select the tag you created for release notes.

This sublist will display only the tasks with release notes tag, saving you from transferring them to another project. For more information, please refer to our guide here.

Let us know if this works or if you have any further questions. Thank you.
