#1858: Quire Feedback
Status: To-do
Tag: Feature Request

I know this is a personal problem and that you would like us to filter or use multiple projects maybe. But never the less I think it would be good to have sections available in the list view. Or multiple lists in a project is probably what I really mean. What am I missing? cheers and thanks!

Merged #4255 to this task.

Hi Neil - When we say headers/list sections, what we have in mind is more like a 'non actionable task'. It may look like a task (maybe slightly bolder in text, the real design isn't decided yet), and it can't be assigned to anyone or set a due date to it. It is used more for grouping purposes. This kind of section/header won't be counted towards the reports in the project overview. The spec of this feature hasn't been decided yet and still in discussion. It looks like what we have in mind matches what you are looking for?🧐 We will keep you posted if we have any updates.

Hi Peggy, The way my brain works I break down a project into sections and therefore would have multiple lists in a project. So visually the list of tasks would have sections. Quire may do this but I may be missing something obvious. How would you approach this? Grouping related tasks. thx

Patrick, Apr 23, 2019

Hi Patrick, Right now, we don’t have this section feature that you are talking about. But the workaround would be using markdown, maybe set a task into big bold red text as a section divider.

Roger that. Thanks!

Hi Patrick, I’m not quite sure what you meant, do you mean you would like a place to see a full list of all tasks across multiple projects? If so, you could add projects into a Smart Folder, see how to do so here. If you simply just want to see a list of projects that belongs to an organization. Go to the organization and scroll down to see the project summary.

hmm hello, Im not sure why my feature suggestion is grouped in to here.

what i meant with this "only grouping" is we wont count the list as a task with measurement progress, but only grouping lable of a task.

did i miss something ? (image recaptured)

Surely sections/headers already exist using sublists - or am I missing something?

Neil Hart, Jul 22, 2021

The 'only grouping' idea sounds more like what I ad in mind, i.e. items which behave/look like tasks only have distinct properties that means they can be managed differently and don't add to the visible workload (e.g. for brainstorming, meeting agendas or adding simple list/checkbox items to a parent task that don't need to be assigned/tracked etc).

Hi Peggy. Possibly, although language might confuse others (as it did me and @reendoobiz ). One initial though with your suggestion would be that date would still be useful when planning, especially milestones (e.g. for timeline view).
