#3029: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

I wish the Sort feature would maintain Task Hierarchy. It's a little distracting when tasks jump out from within the Parent Tasks/Sections when in sort mode, especially when being sorted by priority.

Thanks

Hi @VBora , thank you for your explanation. After some discussion internally, we will keep our current spec. As for the concept that you have mentioned above, we will keep that in mind and maybe come up with a design for it in the future. Thank you.

Sure @peggy . Thank you.

Thanks for the reply @peggy . I feel this makes sense when the Tasks are grouped according to a certain criteria. However, when we are using Sort then the tasks should be sorted within the Task Hierarchy otherwise there isn't much of a difference between Group and Sort.

For example, If I have 5 Large parent projects with their own individual subtasks and priorities. The current setup doesn't allow me to sort and view these 5 projects ONLY , according to their priorities (criteria) if I wanted to. Only on expanding the Parent Tasks/Projects, should I be able to view the corresponding subtasks, that too sorted according to the criteria that I have chosen but within the larger context of my Tasks and Projects.

Hope I have been able to explain this.

Hi @VBora , when in Sort mode, the tasks will be sorted by the criteria that you have chosen. It will still follow the task hierarchy if both the parent task and subtask belong to the same criteria. Hope this makes sense.

Hi @peggy I've just found this which sounds very similar if not the same as the point I just raised when #4754 and another here #4643

I don't like this behaviour. I want to use a parent task for topics. In the sublist I only want the subtasks shown, so I can make a priority. But changing order in sublist will mix up assignment to parent task. :-(
