#4267: Quire Feedback
Status: Completed

  • Subtasks should be grouped under the actual tasks in Kanban and timeline view, or there should at least be in option to do so if you want. Right now I consider subtasks not actually usable because of this, as I use the Kanban view often and all my subtasks are just scattered all over the place (and not recognizable as subtasks either)

  • In the details view (possibly also in the kanban-board-view), it would be cool if it was possible to display subtasks as a checklist, that can be directly used to check-off the done subtasks.

Hi @Lissi_Michler - Thank you for your feedback! I will pass your suggestion to our team for more discussion.

Here are some concerns that we have if we implement above:

  1. If the subtasks are grouped under the parent task, then unlike now, you won't be able to assigned different status to the subtasks anymore. They will all have the same status as the parent task. Is this an expected and useful behavior?
  2. If the subtasks are showed in the detail panel as a checklist, do you also expect them to show under the parent task (as stated in the 1st point above)?

Here's a small tip, I hope it will be helpful: You can toggle on the Advanced mode to see the task path above the task name. Hit Ctrl for Windows or Alt for Mac. Check out this guide for more details: https://quire.io/guide/advanced-mode/

Looking forward to hearing from you!

⭐️ I have merged your post with this post #4175 already covering this request. Feel free to add your comments to that thread.

We have introduced a new feature called Task Bundle, which allows you to group the subtasks under their parent tasks so the task hierarchy will be preserved as it is. Check out this blog post for more information! 😃

Note: This feature is only available for Professional, Premium and Enterprise subscription.
