Introducing Master Organization: Saving Money on Quire Subscription

Quire Pricing

Last updated: May 29, 2026

TL;DR: A Master Organization helps you save more money for your Quire subscription. Instead of paying for every member per organization as in Quire subscription policy, with a Master Organization, you can now pay only once for the shared members across different organizations. Available on Premium and Enterprise plans.

Most SaaS pricing models charge per seat per workspace, which works well for single-team companies and works badly for companies running multiple teams that share the same people. The gap between those two cases is one of the most common cost surprises growing companies hit on their second year of Quire. We built Master Organization to close it.

The cost dynamic is well-documented in SaaS pricing research. According to Forrester's analysis of multi-tenant SaaS pricing and a16z's commentary on workspace-based billing, per-workspace billing makes sense for early growth and becomes punishing once one company runs five or six workspaces of overlapping members. Master Organization is Quire's answer to that punishment.

What is Master Organization and how does it help?

If your teams are in Premium or Enterprise subscriptions, your Quire organization is eligible for using Master Organization.

Tips: Organization can be conceptualized as a department or a team in your company.

You have been all familiar with how Quire subscription works: we bill the final invoice amount for your organization based on how many members you have in that particular organization.

So, if you have 7 members added to the Organization A. Let’s imagine if you have more than one organization that you want to set up in Quire? Let’s say 5 organizations in total and all of same 7 members need to be added to those 5 organizations. Each organization represents a different team in your company and there’s no other way to set up your Quire workspace.

Understanding the major budgeting issue that growing companies might face when subscription to Quire, we introduced Master Organization.

Now, instead of paying for every member per organization as in Quire subscription policy, with a Master Organization, you now pay only once for the shared members across different organizations.

So in the above example, with the Master Organization, you will now only need to pay for 7 members instead of 35 members across 5 organizations.

Too much math and calculations? Sure, let us break down into graphic examples for your reference.

Quire Subscription

For example, if Organization A was subscribed to Premium subscription plan, you can link Organization E and Organization R (both of them are free organizations), which partially shares the same team members to Organization A.

So now, instead of paying separately for three organizations, you will now only be paying for Organization A, which count all of the members and quota usage from Organization E and Organization R.

Do you still want to do the math? Sure, here it is:

Without Master Organization, you will be paying three times (let's use the most basic subscription plan - Professional subscription with an annual subscription):
* Org A: 4 * $7.65 = $30.60
* Org E: 6 * $7.65 = $45.9
* Org R: 5 * $7.65 = $38.25
So in total, you will be paying $114.75
With Master Organization, you will be paying only once for the total member counts across three organizations (need to upgrade to Premium subscription):
* Total amount for 3 organizations: 7 * $13.95 = $97.65

See the difference?

So if we got your interest in the Master Organization already, here’s a detailed guide on how to link your free organizations to the Master Organization.

How does Quire's Master Organization compare to multi-workspace pricing in other PM tools?

Most PM tools bill per seat per workspace. The exceptions are worth knowing about if your company runs multiple workspaces.

Tool Multi-workspace billing model Shared-member discount
Quire Master Organization on Premium/Enterprise; one charge for shared members across linked orgs Yes, this is the explicit purpose of Master Organization
Asana Per-organization billing; Enterprise contracts may negotiate cross-org rates Generally no native discount; case-by-case for Enterprise
ClickUp Workspace-based billing; Enterprise plan supports cross-workspace admin Limited; mostly Enterprise-tier custom pricing
Monday Per-account billing with seats; multi-account pricing requires sales contract Generally no native discount; case-by-case for Enterprise
Notion Workspace-based billing; teamspace structure inside one workspace avoids multi-workspace cost Yes via teamspaces inside one workspace, but not across workspaces

The pattern: most tools force the multi-workspace question into Enterprise sales conversations. Quire's Master Organization is the unusual pattern of putting shared-member pricing on a self-serve Premium tier.

How do you control permissions across linked organizations?

Can the Admins in the Master Organization manage other projects and organizations?

Glad you asked! Once you linked a free organization to your Master Organization, you can start setting up the Master Organization permissions.

  1. In your Master Organization please navigate to the Organization Members setting page, scroll down to the Permission Control section.

  2. Click on Create new role to create a new permission role for your Master Organization.

  3. Grant Master Access and Global Access permissions to that role to let the member with that role can access to all organizations and projects that are linked to the Master Organization.

For more details on the permission roles, please visit our guide on permission control.

Now that you’ve become the master of the Master Organization feature (pun intended 😁), go for it and set up your company in Quire! We can’t wait to see the great things that you will make happen in Quire! ✨

When isn't Master Organization the right structure?

A few honest exclusions, because the savings only show up in specific patterns.

  • Your company runs one workspace and that's it. If you don't have multiple organizations with overlapping members, Master Organization adds complexity without saving anything. Stay on a single Premium or Professional organization.
  • Your teams genuinely don't share people. If Org A has 10 people and Org B has 12 different people with no overlap, you're paying for 22 seats either way. Master Organization is a discount on overlap, not on volume.
  • You're on the free plan. Master Organization requires the Master org itself to be on Premium or Enterprise. Linked free organizations are fine, but you can't combine three free orgs into a Master Organization without upgrading.

If none of those apply, the math usually works out in your favor as soon as a second organization shares members with the first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Master Organization in Quire?

A Premium or Enterprise Quire setup that lets you pay once for shared members across multiple linked organizations, instead of paying per organization per member.

Which Quire plans support Master Organization?

Premium and Enterprise tiers can host a Master Organization. Linked organizations can be on lower tiers (including free) as long as the Master itself is on Premium or above.

How does Master Organization billing work?

Quire bills you once for the total unique member count across all linked organizations, at the Master Organization's tier. Without it, you'd be billed per organization, counting overlapping members multiple times.

When does Master Organization save you money?

When the same people are members of multiple Quire organizations. Break-even is usually at two or three orgs with overlapping membership.

How do you set up cross-organization permissions?

Open the Master Organization's Organization Members settings, create a role under Permission Control, and grant Master Access and Global Access. The Quire permission guide covers role configuration in detail.

Ready to consolidate your Quire billing?

If your company runs multiple Quire organizations with overlapping members, run the math: count the unique people across your orgs, multiply by the Premium per-seat rate, and compare to what you're paying today. If the second number is meaningfully higher, Master Organization will pay for itself in the first month. Full pricing is on the Quire pricing page.
