Hello Peggy, are dependencies finally available? That was much more necessary than custom fields...

Hi @waynevillars - What you have mentioned is one of the feature we will consider for our Task Dependency feature in the future. Another might be: visually see the relationships between tasks in Timeline view, for example, using arrows to show which tasks are dependent to another task.

At the moment, you can manually select the tasks (multiple select them) and push/slide them to the date you prefer. I hope this helps.

Hi, we are considering switching from asana to quire. Everyhting looks and feels a lot better in Quire. But unfortunately I haven't found the option to make one task dependent from another, i.e. setting predecessor and successor tasks. Can't find it, neither in the right-click menu inside a task nor in the timeline visualization where I would have expected it as a common drag&dop functionality to link the beginning of one taks with the end of another. - Is it possible that task dependency is still not available yet?

Hey team, do we have an updated timeline on when this feature would be available? It makes sense to prioritise this feature as it is the very essence of project management.

@peggy , can we clearly define what the feature request is here? I don't want to create a duplicate feature request, but I also don't want to incorrectly assume that this feature request covers my needs.

I'm looking to be able to establish that one task is dependent on another task so that, in the timeline view, if I slide a task to the right (i.e. - extend its due date into the future), all tasks that are dependent on that task will also slide to the right.

@peggy - has there been an update on this in the past week? I think I speak on behalf of a lot of people that the timeline feature will remain a very restricted feature until dependencies are rolled out. The current solution of dragging and dropping isn't very useful since it's a very manual process, especially where there are many tasks/subtasks needing to be updated across multiple projects. Does that make sense as to why a lot of us consider this to be highly important? Thanks - Peter

Hi Peter - Yes, we are aware that having task dependency will be huge improvement for our Timeline feature and how it will be helpful to the workflow. 😭 Unfortunately, I don’t have any update to share at the moment; as far as I’m aware, this feature request hasn’t been prioritized yet. Currently we are working on other priorities (e.g. our pricing plan, etc). I will make sure to keep everyone updated if I have more information. Thank you for your patience!

I saw a notification that there was a recent comment on this task by Justin. The comments here show the last entry as mar 13 when Peggy merged 5236. Hi @Justin_Cawood, Having Task Dependency feature will a great enhancement and we understand that this is important to some of our users. Unfortunately, Task Dependency feature is currently not yet scheduled in our current roadmap. Thank you.

Any updates guys? This is a big one we've been waiting for for a long time. It's also a very primary functional requirement for projects. Thanks
