Task Color Settings in Quire Timeline View Permalink
In Quire’s Timeline view, you can visually organize your tasks by coloring the timespan bars. Colors can represent Date, Priority, Tag, Status, Project, or you can leave it as None.
Note: In My Tasks or Smart Folders, you can color your tasks by Project.
Change Task Bar Colors
- Switch to Timeline view.
- Click the Timeline icon in the upper-right corner to open the dropdown menu.
- Select the desired option: Date, Priority, Tag, Status, Project, or None.
Tip: Press 4 on your keyboard to switch to Timeline view. Press 4 again to access additional dropdown options, then use number keys or arrow keys to navigate.
Parent Task Bar
If a parent task has a different duration than its subtasks, the parent’s timespan bar will appear as a gray slashed bar covering the duration of all its subtasks.

Color Options
Color by Project
- Task bars follow the project the task belongs to.
- Only available in My Tasks or Smart Folders.
Color by Priority
Task bars reflect the priority assigned to each task.
Color by Tag
Task bars follow the first tag assigned to the task.
Color by Date
- Default setting when first switching to Timeline view.
- Colors indicate task timing:
- Yellow: Due today
- Red: Overdue tasks
- Blue: Upcoming tasks
- Gray: Completed tasks
Color by Status
Task bars reflect the status assigned to each task.
None
No colors are applied; the timespan bar appears neutral.
